Happy furlough birthday to me

Today is a mandatory furlough day. Which means a day off. And it happens to be my birthday. Not that I feel the need to call a lot of attention to THAT fact.

I just returned from a weekend that I will never forget. But only if I put some notes in writing, as my memory will quickly fade I fear. It's not something I will blog about because I plan to talk about the people I encountered...the good, the bad and the ugly. My co-workers are in an altogether different category. I hold them all in very high esteem as the most hard working people on the planet. The event, LZ Lambeau, was profoundly moving and special on so many levels.

Another Someone Done Somebody Wrong Song

From a favorite blog of mine, and i am not lying.com. This is a NYC subway musician who does cover songs on a ukulele. He also happens to have his own website.

The Christmas Amaryllis took about 3 months to get to the stage you see here. It took forever, but it was worth the wait. Moving it to the kitchen window, where it's warmer and has some better light, seemed to help.
